I have seen or heard about disposable vapes with very high puff counts and/or more than 20mg/ml of nicotine, are these legal?

The maximum e-liquid capacity for disposable vapes is 2ml – this usually equates to around 600 puffs per device.

Nicotine containing products which exceed this amount – especially those which claim to offer thousands of puffs – are most likely non-compliant and should not be sold in the UK.

Further, the maximum nicotine concentration for vaping products in the UK – including bottles of e-liquid – is 20mg/ml. Anything above this is not legal.

UKVIA Vaping Industry Forum 2026: Making vaping policy work best

Monday 13 July 2026 | National Liberal Club, London

The UK vaping sector is entering a defining year. With the Vape Product Duty approaching, new rules under the Tobacco and Vapes Act, and with further pressure coming down the track around flavours, packaging, displays, waste and advertising, the industry needs a fair hearing – and a clear plan.

The UKVIA Vaping Industry Forum 2026 will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, government agencies, regulators, enforcement bodies, public health voices and consumer representatives for a practical, solutions-focused day on the future of vaping.

The event will combine expert guidance on the regulatory road ahead with collaborative sessions on how responsible businesses can protect vaping’s role in harm reduction, tackle the illicit market, challenge misinformation, and ensure the voice of adult vapers is heard in future policymaking.
