A survey commissioned by the UKVIA revealed that 1 in 3 vapers feared a ban on flavours would lead them back to conventional cigarettes – this translates to around 1.5 million ex-smokers in the UK based on the most recent ONS data.
Research also found that eight in ten vapers (83%) believe flavours helped them ‘pack in their smoking habit’ and that the most popular flavours amongst adult vapers included blueberry, watermelon, cherry, raspberry and the UK’s overall favourite, strawberry.
Arguments have been made that flavours are only used to appeal to young people, however, this research shows they play a critical role for adults who are using e-cigarettes as an avenue away from smoking.
