Real Vapers
Your story matters – share how vaping helped you quit and changed your life for the better
Vaping has become a powerful tool in improving public health, helping millions of adult smokers break free from the deadly habit and playing a key role in reducing smoking rates to record lows.
We’re calling on real vapers to share their stories so the government can better understand the true impact of vaping, and to inspire smokers – who may have been discouraged by misinformation – to make the switch to a significantly less harmful alternative.
Tell us how vaping has changed your life for the better below:
See just some stories from real vapers:
I am a 60-year-old woman who has smoked 30 a day from the age of 16. I switched to vaping this year and haven’t had a cigarette since. I’ve tried stopping smoking before and always went back to it, but I have no desire to go back to it now. I understand the concerns around vaping especially for young people but for me it has been a game changer and finally enabled me to give up cigarettes.
I had been smoking daily for 41 years. I decided to try vaping instead. Since starting to vape two and a half years ago, I haven't smoked at all. I would never have been able to quit without vaping.
I’ve been vaping about 8 years and wouldn’t have been successful in my journey had it not been for flavours and the choice of flavours that are available. I still enjoy trying new and interesting flavours.
Tried multiple times to quit smoking with NRT only to fail every time. Finding a top quality vape store with the time and knowledge to not only supply me with the right device for me and the correct liquids but also to support me on my quit attempts, was exactly what I needed. I have now been cigarette free for almost 6 years and never would have been able to do it without vaping.
I had been smoking 15 to 20 cigarettes per day for six years and desperately wanted to quit due to the smell it was creating on all my clothes. I have now been able to completely quit smoking cigarettes…vapes have been the only thing that have helped me quit.
After 30+ years tobacco smoking rolls/cigarettes and finding it hard to quit, I thought I’d try vaping to see if it would help me with my 30/40 habit. So far, I’m down to one vape a week which is helping me save and quit.
My husband and I smoked a pack a day for 30 years. We had tried giving up smoking many times unsuccessfully. When a vape shop opened up near us we decided to try vaping to give up cigarettes and cut down on our nicotine intake. We still vape, but we are down to 0.3 strength of nicotine now which we believe is much less harmful than smoking.
If it wasn't for the option of vaping I was and still would be a heavy smoker. I started vaping and instantly quit smoking 2 years ago. I feel 100 percent better for it. If vaping was too expensive, I'd just go back to smoking and would probably cost the NHS a fortune in the future.
I've smoked for 30 + years and enjoyed it, I had a health scare and stopped immediately vaping has made it so much easier.
Without vapes, I know I would still be smoking 20 to 30 cigarettes a day. I am hoping that the Government does NOT ban vapes, as they are often the only way heavy smokers, such as myself, manage to quit.
