The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) is urging vape retailers across Kent to temporarily suspend in-store sampling amid a rise in meningitis cases in the area.
Vaping does not cause meningitis but the bacteria which causes it can spread through saliva.
John Dunne, Director General of the UKVIA, said: “We are advising retailers in the area to take this simple precaution.
“Consumers can also reduce potential transmission by not sharing items which can spread saliva including vapes, bottles and glasses. We also encourage everyone in the area to follow the official public health guidance.”
